The South Los Angeles Station 10-33 Ride is extremely sad to announce the profound loss of one of our own LASD brother’s, Deputy Alfredo “Freddy” Flores, who tragically passed away last night following a valiant fight for recovery from injuries sustained in the line of duty. Freddy graduated from academy class #327 and honorably served the residents of Los Angeles County for 22 years and will forever be remembered. He was assigned to several units during his tenure, including the North County Correctional Facility, Operations Safe Jails, Altadena Station, and, most recently, the Sylmar Juvenile Court at Court Services West Bureau. He made a unique contribution to all these assignments. Deputy Flores was not just a colleague but a beacon of strength, earning the respect of both his peers and the community he served. His sudden departure has left an immense void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Freddy is survived by his wife, children, and parents. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and partners of Deputy Flores. Freddy will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed. Rest easy Sir, we will hold the line from here.

The South Los Angeles 10-33 Ride is humbled and honored to announce: This year, in addition to the 5 fallen Peace Officers and 4 fallen Firefighters from our previous post, we would additionally like to honor our brother Jonathan Torres. Jonathan worked with many of us at South Los Angeles Station. Sadly in 2018 Jonathan was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Even through his battle with cancer he made it very well known to his brothers and sisters at the station that he wanted to come back to work and go “10-8”. Jonathan never wanted to stop serving his community and always showed up with a smile on his face, embodying the true meaning of being a peace officer. Sadly earlier this year, in March, Jonathan passed away. We will be honorably mentioning Jonathan Torres at this years ride.
